Invitation to the 20th anniversary celebrations of
the Hungarian Patchwork Guild
Programme of the 7th ‘Borderless’ exhibition

Opening ceremony:
Friday 6th November 2009, 5pm
Guest: Eszter Horgas, flautist, who will improvise music for the
exhibited works
After the opening: meeting our international guests with some wine and
snacks
Exhibitions:
- Exhibition of the Hungarian Patchwork Guild – selected works from the
last three years. Catalogue will be available
- Contest exhibition of the European Patchwork Meeting in Budapest:
Colours of a country
- East European exhibition: three works from each of the countries of
the region will be on show
- Afghanistan –Inspiration; Pasquale Goldenberg’s project in Hungary:
exhibition of Hungarian quilts based on Afghan embroidery
- Irish and Hungarian gardens: First showing of two 2 x 2 metre flower
garden-quilts that has been created by Irish and Hungarian quilters
- Friendship tree: a quilt of a tree without leaves will be exhibited;
guests are asked to bring the tree to life by placing a quilted leaf on
it. The leaf should be palm-size and bearing the name of the quilter. A
piece of the rough side of Velcro should be fixed on the back of the
leaf
